Mayza Joao's interest in Jewellery started soon after she finished her Degree in Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Brasilia , Brazil.
Researching architectural metal structures she started experimenting and designing small pieces in silver . Initially attending Renato Camargo School of Jewellery in Sao Paulo and later working alongside key designers in Sao Paulo and Europe, she kept jewellery as a parallel activity with Architecture .
Established in London since 2004 whilst researching Urban Planning ,she was awarded an MA in Cities Design and Regeneration in 2006 by the London Metropolitan University. In 2007 she set up her studio at Craft Central in Clerkenwell where she designs and makes her jewellery collections.
